SANY and Solarh2e to Launch Australia’s First Heavy Vehicle Charge and Battery Swap Hub

Partnership announced at IMARC 2025 to accelerate national decarbonisation of heavy transport

At the International Mining and Resources Conference & Expo (IMARC) 2025, SANY, a global leader in heavy equipment manufacturing, and Solarh2e Pty Ltd, an Australian transport decarbonisation infrastructure company, announced a landmark partnership to deliver Australia’s first charge and fully automated battery swap hub for heavy electric vehicles (HBEVs).

This initiative marks a pivotal milestone in decarbonising Australia’s heavy transport sector, with SANY committed to supporting Solarh2e in energising a first-year target of 30 SANY electric prime movers through the rollout of Solarh2e’s inaugural charge and swap hub.

“SANY is proud to partner with Solarh2e in delivering Australia’s first charge and fully automated swap hub for electric heavy vehicles,” said Yang Gao, GM of SANY International Development. “With three models of our electric trucks already ADR-certified – including a 588kWh prime mover and two 85kWh light trucks – SANY is ready to lead the transformation of Australia’s heavy transport fleet toward zero emissions.”

Solarh2e confirmed it has signed its first transport operator, who will deploy two SANY trial trucks as part of a framework agreement for 30 trucks in the first year, aimed at helping the operator’s customers achieve their ESG and emissions reduction targets over the next three years.

“This partnership with SANY marks a major step toward building the backbone of Australia’s zero-emission freight network,” said Richard Zee, CEO of Solarh2e. “Together, we’re combining advanced vehicle technology, energy systems engineering, and forward-thinking investment to create a scalable, practical pathway to decarbonisation.”

Solarh2e’s rollout strategy includes both its proprietary hubs and collaboration with third-party infrastructure developers currently establishing charge networks with ARENA funding support. This integrated approach will ensure greater accessibility, interoperability, and network coverage for electric heavy vehicles nationwide.

The company is also in active discussions with transport infrastructure investors to fund a national network of charge and swap hubs, beginning with a flagship site in Victoria. The network will expand along Australia’s east coast – linking Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide – providing fleet operators and regional communities with clean transport infrastructure.

The rollout is supported by Shoal Group and Global Power Energy (GPE), Solarh2e’s engineering partners, who bring advanced simulation, systems design, and power integration expertise to ensure technical excellence, reliability, and scalability.

“This initiative is perfectly aligned with the Australian Government’s 2035 decarbonisation goals,” Zee added. “By combining SANY’s proven electric vehicle technology with Solarh2e’s infrastructure vision and the expertise of Shoal Group and GPE, we’re building a future-ready solution for sustainable heavy transport in Australia.”

The new strategic alliance will play a key role in advancing Australia’s decarbonisation goals and enabling industry to reach their net-zero targets.
