Solarh2e and GPE announce strategic alliance to fast track EV infrastructure

Solarh2e and Global Power Energy (GPE) are pleased to announce a new strategic alliance that will accelerate the roll out of green energy, battery electric vehicle (BEV) battery swap infrastructure along Australia’s busiest, heavy haulage freight routes. Commencing with the design and commissioning of a display, test and evaluation site at the Australian Automotive Research Centre (AARC), the alliance brings together Solarh2e’s end-to-end solution for heavy haulage decarbonisation and GPE’s expertise in engineering and advisory services for new energy infrastructure.

The partnership will support the identification, feasibility and delivery of 12 battery swap energy hubs between Melbourne and Sydney, Sydney and Brisbane, and Melbourne and Adelaide. By combining technical and strategic capabilities, the alliance establishes a collaborative approach to assess site location and viability, conduct risk assessments, and site approval pathways for this nation-building infrastructure.

“At Solarh2e, we’re committed to creating a cleaner transport future, replacing dependence on outdated, diesel trucks, with efficient, low emission alternatives,” said Richard Zee, CEO. “Our strategic alliance with GPE will accelerate electrification and decarbonisation of heavy haulage, helping Australian companies reach net-zero emissions by 2050.”

Greg Elkins, Chief Executive Officer and founder of GPE, said that the strategic alliance reflects shared values and a commitment to delivering practical solutions for a sustainable energy transition.

“Our team brings together decades of engineering experience and expertise to support Australia’s shift to zero-emissions freight. Partnering with Solarh2e will see Australia’s busiest freight corridors establish battery swap as well as charge hubs to make this shift possible.”

The display, test and evaluation site at the AARC will showcase Solareh2e’s ‘whole-of-system’ solution, with the site planned to be operational by September 2025.

The new strategic alliance will play a key role in advancing Australia’s decarbonisation goals and enabling industry to reach their net-zero targets.
