Ross De Rango joins Solarh2e Board

Solarh2e, a pioneering company dedicated to accelerating the electrification and decarbonisation of heavy haulage in Australia, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ross De Rango to its Board of Directors. Ross joins existing Directors, Richard Zee, Shaun Wilson and Sean Rooney, further strengthening the company’s leadership in sustainable transport solutions.

Ross, a robotics engineer, is a highly respected leader in the electric vehicle (EV) industry. For the past eight years, he has been involved in shaping the standards, codes, regulation and market design considerations essential for Australia’s EV infrastructure. His most recent venture, Vehicle Charging Solutions Australia, evidences his commitment to solving complex challenges within the EV sector in transitioning transport towards green, electric solutions.

His extensive experience includes pivotal work in integrating EV readiness requirements into the National Construction Code (NCC) and influencing consumer protection guidelines for EV charging through submissions to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER). Ross has also played a key role in shaping tariff structures for public charging infrastructure operators across Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland. He has also engaged closely with the NSW government on various EV charging programs, including the kerbside program, and contributed to the Australian Standards related to demand response, EV maintenance, vehicle to grid technology, and national electrical wiring rules.

This expertise in EV infrastructure and regulatory frameworks aligns with Solarh2e’s vision to create a sustainable future by replacing outdated, carbon-intensive diesel trucks with cleaner, electric, battery swap technology infrastructure and heavy haulage EVs.

“We are excited to welcome Ross to our Board of Directors,” says Richard Zee, Solarh2e CEO and Co-Founder. “His expertise in EV infrastructure and knowledge of the electric vehicle industry, standards and market design will be invaluable as Solarh2e pursues the roll out of our battery swap technology and infrastructure across major freight routes in Australia. Ross’s insights will be instrumental in helping Australian companies reach Net-Zero emissions targets by 2025 for point-to-point haulage.”

Solarh2 is focused on accelerating decarbonisation across critical industries, including mineral haulage, bulk commodities, intercity goods, and intracity last-mile transport. The company works with a network of key partners, including engineering simulation experts, infrastructure providers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) service providers, and project financiers, to design and facilitate comprehensive point-to-point decarbonised haulage solutions.

“I am thrilled to join Solarh2e’s Board and contribute to a vision that aligns with my passion for sustainable transportation,” says Ross. “The company’s innovative approach to electrifying point-to-point haulage is critical for Australia’s net-zero future, and I look forward to collaborating with Richard, Shaun, and Sean to achieve these ambitious goals.”
