Solarh2e Pty Ltd has signed a cooperation agreement with global heavy-equipment leader SANY at the SANY Global Transportation Energy Summit, marking another critical milestone in Australia’s transition to zero-emission heavy transport.
The two-day summit, themed ‘Next SANY Era’, brought together 380 delegates from 31 countries at the SANY Intelligent Heavy Truck Industrial Park in Changsha, China. The event showcased SANY’s rapid evolution from traditional manufacturing to a global provider of electrified, low-carbon and digital-intelligent transport solutions.
During the summit, SANY signed cooperation agreements with five core agents and 11 major strategic customers from around the world, underscoring global momentum behind electrified heavy-vehicle solutions. Solarh2e’s agreement places Australia in a leading position.
“Together with SANY, we are introducing Australia’s first charge and automated battery swap hub for heavy electric vehicles,” says Richard Zee, CEO of Solarh2e. “It’s a foundational step in reshaping how freight moves across the country, creating a blueprint for a zero-emission transport network that can scale nationwide.”
Under the agreement, Solarh2e and SANY will partner to deliver Australia’s first combined charging and fully automated battery-swap hub for heavy battery-electric vehicles (HBEVs). As part of the collaboration, SANY has committed to supporting Solarh2e in energising a first-year deployment target of 30 SANY electric prime movers through the inaugural hub.
SANY has already secured Australian Design Rules (ADR) certification for three electric truck models, including a 588 kWh prime mover and two 85 kWh light trucks. It is ready to support large-scale fleet transition and help lead the transformation of Australia’s heavy transport sector toward zero emissions.
The Solarh2e–SANY alliance will play a critical role in accelerating Australia’s shift to zero-emission heavy transport. By integrating high-performance electric trucks with efficient, six-minute charge-and-swap infrastructure, the partnership provides a commercially viable model to overcome key barriers that have slowed nationwide adoption, including range, downtime and charging constraints.
The agreement strengthens both companies’ commitment to building a cleaner, more resilient and more efficient freight network, and supports Australia’s broader ambition to achieve net-zero emissions.
