Solarh2e is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Greg Elkins as Non-Executive Director. One of Australia’s leading experts in the energy sector, Greg joins Richard Zee, Shaun Wilson, and Sean Rooney on the Board, further strengthening Solarh2e’s capacity to deliver large-scale, integrated charging infrastructure for heavy battery-electric vehicles (HBEVs) across Australia’s major freight corridors.
Greg is the founder and CEO of Global Power Energy (GPE), an industry-leading engineering and advisory firm focused on the transition to new energy infrastructure. GPE is the grid integration lead on globally significant mega-projects and advises Australia’s major multi-national renewable energy developers on commercial and technical design. His deep technical and commercial expertise in power systems, network planning, and energy market frameworks, includes prior responsibility for approving new generator connections at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), where he led the integration of complex renewable energy projects into the national grid.
The appointment reinforces the strategic alliance between Solarh2e and GPE, and their shared commitment to delivering investor-ready HBEV charging hubs across Australia.
“Solarh2e is addressing one of the most critical challenges in decarbonisation – how to deliver reliable, scalable charging infrastructure to support zero-emissions freight,” said Greg Elkins. “The opportunity to contribute at Board level is particularly compelling as projects move toward deployment and the industry accelerates a better balance with fossil fuels.”
Richard Zee, CEO of Solarh2e, noted that Greg’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as the company moves from concept to execution. “We are accelerating the rollout of HBEV charging infrastructure across Australia’s key freight corridors, and Greg’s expertise in power systems, grid integration, and energy market frameworks will be invaluable,” he said. “His ability to bridge technical complexity with commercial outcomes will strengthen our capacity to deliver investor-ready projects and build the infrastructure needed to decarbonise heavy transport at scale.”
Solarh2e is progressing its national network of energy hubs designed to serve major freight routes with fast, efficient HBEV charging solutions. This infrastructure supports the heavy transport industry’s path to net-zero while ensuring the reliability and efficiency that long-haul logistics demands.
